Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because from a very young age I enjoyed being a nurturer, helping people to find their strengths and improve their weaknessess. I have alays enjoyed teaching others and seeing others grow! I enjoy seeing others happy and successful! I knew that I was great with children and thought that they deserved someone like what I didn't have! Someone who always believed in them no matter what they did, who they were, or where they came from! I knew that children needed ME!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One teaching experience that I hold dear to my heart is the year, I had so many students struggling throughout the year. Alot of students staggered in. I had a ton of disabilities diagnosed and undiagnosed, I had AU students, I had ELL students. We were nearing the end of the school year and I still had a lot of students not yet showing proficiency yet I had done eveything I could think of. We went on spring break and came back and did testing and all students were on or above grade level!

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would pay for the National State Board so that I could qualify to get paid more for the 16 plus years of experience in education. I would be able to use this to provide more for my students with more classroom materials and wow experiences! I would pour some into my classroom to provide things that are difficult to obtain throughout the school year. I would also pay some student loans, and the rest would go to my children at home who often get shorted because I dedicate so much of me to work!
