I love teaching science because watching little scientists with big ideas light up when they discover how something works is incredible.

There has never been a time in my life when I did not want to be a teacher. I knew it from a very early age that it's what I was meant to do. I love building connections with students and their families and being able to provide the joy and wonder of science.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of the kindergarten units that I teach is about the needs of plants and animals. I organized for each class to adopt their own butterfly garden in the classroom- 10 butterfly gardens hanging across a wall. I was able to take each class out to release the butterflies. It was amazing to see the wonder in their eyes as the butterflies were released, and the way they were able to talk about the concepts they learned during that time.
What would you do with the $25,000?Wow- that’s a lot!! I would donate a portion to a charity close to my heart. I would also set aside a portion for the future higher education for my 3 young kids.
