Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to make a meaningful difference by helping others learn and grow. I’ve always found joy in explaining ideas and supporting others in gaining confidence. Teaching allows me to create a positive, encouraging environment where students can reach their potential. It also fuels my own love of learning, as I grow alongside my students and continue to be inspired by their curiosity and progress.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most meaningful experiences was when a former student returned years later to share how much my class had impacted them. They told me that the encouragement and belief I showed during a difficult time gave them the confidence to keep going and pursue their goals. Hearing that reminded me that the impact of teaching often extends far beyond the classroom and can stay with students long after they leave.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I would enhance my classroom with updated technology, diverse books, and hands-on learning materials. I’d fund field trips or virtual experiences to expand learning beyond the classroom, and create a flexible, welcoming space that supports student engagement, comfort, and success.
