Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I believe every child deserves to feel seen, valued, and capable. For 30 years, I’ve tried to be a steady voice of encouragement and a safe place on hard days. I love watching confidence grow and curiosity come alive. Teaching isn’t just a career to me; it’s a calling to shape hearts, minds, and futures far beyond my classroom.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable experiences has been teaching all three of my children. Having them in my classroom and then watching them grow beyond it was a gift I’ll always treasure. I was able to nurture their love of learning during the school day and guide their character and confidence at home. Seeing them thrive both inside and outside my classroom has been one of the greatest blessings of my career.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I were blessed with the $25,000, it would allow me to finally breathe. After my husband’s suicide, I have carried the responsibility of caring for my family on my own. This gift would help me recover from the debt that followed, catch up on finances, and create a sense of stability for my children. It would not just ease a financial burden, it would provide peace and security for our future.
