Tell us why you became a teacher

I came from a family of teachers. Seeing the impact my mom made in her students' lives was inspiring. I also had so many teachers make a difference in my life from Kindergarten through 12th grade. The support, encouragement, and genuine care I felt from my teachers throughout the entire school career had a profound impact on me. Additionally, I've always loved working with children. With all of these things combined, I knew teaching is what I wanted to do.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience is a culmination of the relationships I have built with my students and their families. Over the years, I am humbled and proud to know I have impacted my students' lives the way my teachers impacted mine. Years later, I have had numerous students visit me and tell me how much I made a difference in their lives.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With the $25,000 I would reinvest in the education of my students and assist in funding our musical arts program.
