I became a teacher because I believe every child deserves someone who truly believes in them. Many of my students have faced challenges and have often been told what they cannot do. I chose this path to show them what they can do. Teaching allows me to build confidence, teach real-life skills, and help students discover their strengths and their purpose beyond the classroom.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable experiences is seeing a student who once doubted themselves begin to believe in their abilities. At first they were quiet, unsure, and hesitant to try. Through patience, encouragement, and celebrating small successes, they began to participate, complete their work, and share their voice. Watching that transformation—the moment they realize they can succeed—is something I will never forget.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the funds to provide resources and real-world learning opportunities that help my students prepare for life beyond high school. Many of my students need hands-on experiences, technology, and career exploration opportunities to build independence and confidence. This funding would allow me to create meaningful learning experiences that help students develop life skills, discover their strengths, and believe in their future.
