Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I value watching children learn and grow while I also continue to learn and grow myself, creating a shared journey in the classroom. I love that every day is different, bringing new challenges, moments, and opportunities to adapt and improve. Most importantly, I find meaning in building relationships with my students and truly getting to know each one, including understanding their individual strengths and helping them succeed in their own unique ways.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was my very first day as a full-time teacher, stepping into a classroom that was finally my own, with my very first group of students. I remember feeling a mix of excitement and nerves, unsure of exactly what the day would bring but confident that I was ready for whatever was ahead. From the moment the students walked in, everything felt real in a way it never had before. Surprisingly, the day went smoothly, and by the end of it I had already learned so much

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I were awarded $25,000, I would use it to support myself by paying off my student debt. Relieving that financial burden would give me the freedom and stability to return to school and pursue another degree in education. Continuing my own learning journey is incredibly important to me, and this opportunity would allow me to grow both personally and professionally so I can become an even more effective and knowledgeable educator.
