I became a teacher because I want children to feel seen, supported, and capable of success. Growing up in a low socioeconomic home, I know how easy it is for students to believe their environment defines them. I want my students to know it doesn’t—that they are capable of doing hard things and reaching their goals. Teaching allows me to build confidence and help children realize their potential. 🍎📚

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was working with a nonverbal kindergarten student with autism. Some suggested a different setting, but I believed she could succeed in the general classroom with support. Over the year, we worked on communication and confidence. By the end of the year, she was speaking in complete sentences, interacting with peers, and asking for help. Watching her growth was incredibly rewarding.

If I received $25,000, I would first give back to the local churches that have supported and prayed for me through difficult seasons. I would pay off debt for both myself and my grandmother, lifting a financial burden from our family. I would also love to surprise my mom with a brand new van. Being able to bless the people who have always been there for me would mean everything.
