I became a teacher because I wanted to be able to actively make a difference in children’s lives and the future generation of America. I had an amazing teacher that changed my outlook on school and how it could be a safe place for myself and others. I wanted to be able to provide that same safe place and continue to make a positive change in the world of education.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceThere are so many- that’s hard to pick! I would say one of my favorite memories would be in 2020, during online teaching, I was able to win teacher of the year for my district! I helped my whole district navigate how to make canvas, typically a college platform, accessible for Kindergarten-2nd grade and routinely had the highest attendance in my class! Students still were actively learning and we were able to make some incredible memories despite never seeing each other face to face.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use the money to help my husband and I purchase our first home!
