I became a teacher because I wanted to make a difference in the day to day life of all of my students. I strive for my students to feel seen, safe, comfortable, supported, and overall happy when they are in my classroom. Of course, I enjoy teaching math content and adapting to help all students understand math, but within this, I also enjoy seeing students build confidence, curiosity, life skills, and an overall joy for learning. Knowing I make a difference everyday to my students is my "why".

I taught high school for 10yrs with thousands of memories/successes/teacher appreciation awards/events. Unfortunately, due to budget cuts & low seniority, my position was cut & I was displaced to the middle school. Devistated to lose my dream job, but optimistic to change. Turns out, I LOVE teaching any level. Kids tell me they LOVE learning math this year & are actually having fun! Just today, 1 of my low students screamed "I FINALLY GET MATH"& SMILED during the lesson! This is what it is about

I would start with paying down debt and student loans. Start a savings account! Truthfully, I do not know! I have never entertained that sum of money even being a possibility. I would be able to restock my prize/candy stash for students without breaking the bank! The jolly rancher addiction is crazy, but the candy motivation is real!
