I became a teacher because I realized it was just natural to me. I was always with children teaching on colors, how to swim, and didn’t even know I was teaching as I was doing it. My mom was a teacher of her over 30 years. I think it’s in my blood.

My most memorable experience when I was teaching second grade in Maryland in 2010. I had a student who was very disruptive and didn’t want anything to do with learning, especially reading. I spent extra time with him on my breaks and realized that he just needed a few breaks and a little attention. I got the whole class praising him when he did well and he became interested in learning and started reading. I loved him.

I would give back to everybody who helped me out in the last four years from the financial turmoil the previous company I worked for put me in by withholding my wages on and off for four years, owing me $80,000. Then, I would pay some of my credit card debt that I am unable to pay on my teacher salary, buy a new surfboard because mine is falling apart, and go see Dave Matthews Band! I also would like to help children who are under privileged and can’t afford school supplies… the highlight of it.
