I became a teacher to make a lasting difference in children’s lives. I believe every child deserves to feel seen, valued, and capable of greatness. Teaching allows me to spark curiosity, build confidence, and create a joyful space where students discover their strengths, find their voice, and believe in their power to succeed.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Last year, teaching third grade math for the first time pushed me far beyond my comfort zone. I learned new strategies quickly and taught with urgency, passion, and creativity to make math come alive. The hard work paid off, over 50% of my students earned a Level 3 or 4 on the state exam, proving their confidence and growth.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I would give my students an unforgettable, all-expenses-paid class trip where they could simply be kids—no fees, no food to bring, just joy, exploration, and new experiences. Seeing them enjoy a worry-free day would mean everything. I would also use a portion to pay down personal bills and create greater financial stability.
