I became a teacher because I believe in the power of education to change lives. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a child’s confidence grow when they finally understand something new. I wanted to be someone who encourages, inspires, and helps shape young minds—not just academically, but emotionally and socially too. Teaching allows me to make a difference every single day, and that is truly my calling.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I was teaching my elementary class about the water cycle. We had done the experiment where we put warm water in a bowl, covered it with plastic wrap, and added ice on top to show condensation. As the droplets began to form and “rain” back down, one of my quietest students gasped and said, “Wait… that’s what clouds What made it unforgettable wasn’t just that they understood the concept. It was watching their confidence grow in real time. Moments like these remind me why I love to teach.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I had $25,000, I would invest in hands-on science manipulatives for my students—microscopes, STEM kits, lab materials, and tools that bring learning to life. I want science to be explored, built, and experienced, not just read about. The rest would go toward paying off my student loan debt, giving me financial freedom and peace of mind so I can continue pouring my heart fully into teaching and creating meaningful learning experiences.
