Tell us why you became a teacher

The reason I became a teacher is because, growing up, I had so many amazing teachers who truly inspired me and helped shape me into the person I am today. They encouraged me, supported me, and showed me how powerful education can be. Their influence made a lasting impact on my life and played a big role in my decision to pursue teaching. Another reason I chose this career is because I always enjoyed helping others learn. When I was younger, I loved helping my little cousins with their homework.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was helping a student who struggled and often wanted to give up on their work. I spent extra time working with them and breaking the assignments into smaller steps. Over time, the student became more confident. One day after completing an assignment, the student smiled and said, “I did it!” That moment reminded me why I love teaching and how rewarding it is to see students believe in themselves.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With the $25, 000 I would put it into my school so we can have a STEAM classroom. I work at a magnet school and I know the students would love doing different experiments. Also, I would enjoy it as well because I do want to become an early childhood science teacher.
