I became a teacher because I know how much of a difference a supportive teacher can make in a student’s life. When I was in 3rd grade, I had a teacher named Mrs. Brooks who really believed in me and encouraged me to do my best. Her support helped me gain confidence in myself and made learning feel exciting. That experience stayed with me, and it inspired me to become a teacher so I could encourage my own students and help them realize their potential just like she did for me.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI once had a student who was constantly getting in trouble and often suspended. I made it a point to build a relationship with her and truly listen. Over time she began trusting me and her behavior improved. On the last day of school, knowing I was moving schools, she ran down the hall crying to hug me goodbye. That moment reminded me how powerful relationships are and how much students can impact us as teachers. ❤️
What would you do with the $25,000?I would first stock my classroom with candy, fidgets, pencils, and so many things that kids love. Then I would take my colleagues to dinner because it takes a village. Lastly I would take my family to dinner for being understanding of the late night this job requires.
