Tell us why you became a teacher

There wasn’t one defining moment that led me to become a teacher. Instead, my involvement in church youth groups and volunteering at Vacation Bible School gradually opened my eyes to the many possibilities of serving in a teaching role. Through these experiences, I discovered how meaningful it is to guide, support, and encourage young people as they learn and grow.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable moments as a teacher are when former students come back just to say hi. Knowing that they remember me and take the time to reconnect reminds me that the relationships we built in the classroom truly matter. It reassures me that the impact of teaching goes beyond lessons and assignments—it lasts long after students leave my class.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With the money, I would pay off my school loans and invest some into my sons’ college education. With what is left, I would take my family on a vacation.
