I love teaching the leaders of tomorrow and coaching my drill team! I truly care for all my students as if they were my own.

I became a teacher because I wanted to be the constant support system I knew students needed to thrive. There is nothing more rewarding than sparking a "lightbulb moment" or helping a student realize their own potential. I wanted a career where I could mentor the next generation of leaders, teaching them that with hard work and a little bit of heart, they can achieve anything they set their minds to.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable moments happen on the field and in the classroom. One year, a student who struggled with confidence joined the drill team. Watching her transform from a shy, hesitant performer into a bold, expressive leader was incredible. At our final performance, seeing her lead the team with a huge smile reminded me why I do this. It’s not just about the curriculum or the choreography; it’s about building the confidence they’ll carry for the rest of their lives.
What would you do with the $25,000?Winning would allow me to pour back into the students who inspire me daily. I’d invest in new classroom technology and cover costs for my drill team—like uniforms and equipment—to ensure every girl can participate. After years of prioritizing my "kids" over my own needs, I’d also finally fund a much-needed getaway to recharge. Truly, though, the greatest gift would be starting a scholarship for a graduating senior who embodies the leadership and heart we strive for every day.
