Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I have a genuine passion for helping children grow academically, socially, and emotionally. I love creating a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn. Teaching allows me to make a lasting impact by guiding students, sparking curiosity, and helping them build confidence in themselves. Knowing that I can be a positive influence in a child’s life motivates me every day to be patient, creative, and committed to their success.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was when I had a student who was very shy and struggled to participate in class. Over time, I worked with them individually, giving encouragement and creating opportunities for small successes. One day, they volunteered to read aloud in front of the class for the first time—and they did an amazing job. The pride on their face and the support from their classmates was unforgettable. What would you do with the $25,000?

If I were given $25,000, I would use it to directly enhance my students’ learning experiences. I would invest in classroom resources such as books, technology, and hands-on materials that support creativity, critical thinking, and engagement. I would also use some of the funds to create enrichment opportunities—like field trips or STEM projects—that allow students to explore new ideas beyond the textbook.
