I had an amazing 3rd grade teacher that turned my life around. She saw my potential and dedicated her time to help motivate me and to help me learn to read. She saw that I loved to be creative and asked me to teach my 3rd grade class an art lesson. After the lesson, she wrote me a note to tell me how well I taught my art lesson and that one day I could be an art teacher. Sure enough I did become an art teacher and start my career in the same school where I got my note!

My most memorable teaching experience, was in my first year of teaching 2nd grade. I had a student who I was teaching to read. After a few months of working with her, she looked up at me as she was reading and said, “I never knew books could be so good!” And thanked me for teaching her. We both hugged and cried. I was so proud of her!

I would love to build some STEM kits and Lego kits to use at science and writing for the kids to explore. They can build a creation or invention and write about it. This would be so motivating for 2nd graders!
