Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher so I can help make a change in a young male and female life. My life’s motto is: “If I can help change someone’s life along the way, then my living will not be in vain”

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable experience is when I first started teaching at Hammond High School and one of my students was told he would not live to see the next six months of his life. In May he was able to walk across the stage and to this day, he is still here by the grace of God.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I’m awarded the $25,000, I would help the low poverty students, purchase some much needed supplies for my classroom and sponsor a community event.
