Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to help students grow into the best versions of themselves. I strive to create a classroom where every child feels seen, valued, and genuinely cared for. I want my students to understand that mistakes are not failures, but important steps in learning and growth. My goal is to encourage resilience, nurture confidence, and remind them daily that they are capable. Above all, I want them to know someone believes in them and is always cheering them on.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable moments was stepping into a classroom halfway through the school year as a first year teacher. It was a big change for my students, and I faced many challenges. Still, I stayed positive. When my students told me they believed in and supported me, it meant everything. That moment reminded me that teaching is about relationships, and every day since has been meaningful as we continue to learn and grow together.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If awarded $25,000, I would invest in my public school classroom by purchasing supplies, resources, and meaningful decorations to create a welcoming, engaging space. I love working with students from diverse backgrounds and experiences, and I want to ensure they have everything they need to succeed. As a first-year teacher, budgeting can be challenging. I would also share this blessing with my family, whose constant support made my journey possible. Their encouragement is the reason I’m here.
