Thank you for supporting Ana Briceno in this year's competition. Your donations and participation will benefit The Planetary Society in their mission to advance space exploration, inspire discovery, and empower the next generation of innovators.
I became a teacher because inspiring growth and confidence truly changes lives. I love being in my classroom. I love making children feel safe, valued, and capable. Watching students discover their strengths, take risks, and believe in themselves is incredibly meaningful. Being part of their learning journey and helping them grow both academically and personally is why I chose this path.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experiences are the “aha” moments students have. I love when a child writes a sentence independently or proudly raises their hand to participate. Those moments of confidence and discovery are incredibly special. I don’t have just one memorable experience; it’s the everyday surprises, growth, and joy my students bring that make teaching so meaningful.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I received $25,000, I would invest some of it back into my students. I plan to start a club for kindergartners next year and will need resources and materials for activities that support hands-on learning and collaboration. I would also save a portion and reinvest it to support future opportunities for my students and classroom.
