I became a teacher because, throughout my own education, the truly inspiring teachers were few and far between. The ones who believed in me and pushed me to be better made a lasting impact on my life. I knew I wanted to be that kind of inspiration for as many students as possible—just as they were for me.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching moment was this year when one of my students earned first place at the county science fair. The smile on her face, the tears in her eyes, and the joy she felt as she held up her award deeply moved me. When we returned to school and shared the news, her classmates erupted in celebration. Their cheers and pride are moments I will never forget.
What would you do with the $25,000?If awarded $25,000, I would use the funds to support my family and provide greater stability in our home. My children have sacrificed time and experiences as I have dedicated significant personal time, energy, and financial resources to my classroom students. This award would allow me to invest back into my own children and create opportunities they may have missed.
