Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I wanted to impact the future. My goal was to shape how children think about themselves, learning, and the world. After all, the children are our future!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was my first year as a kindergarten teacher. I had a little girl in my class who had leukemia. I was blessed to be her teacher in school, but also her hospital homebound teacher too. To see her struggle every day and still put a smile on her face and want to learn, was very rewarding. She’s a senior this year and I look forward to seeing her graduate.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With the $25,000, I would do some upgrades on my house. I would like to get new furniture and a new bedroom set. I would also get a new home security system to keep my family safe.
