Tell us why you became a teacher

I wanted a career that would allow me to help our futures. Teaching children is something that helps build our future growth as a community and country to succeed. I feel so privilaged to be a part of that.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

It was my first year and i had a student tell me they couldn’t write their name. I responded with we never say I can’t. We always say we’ll try. She practiced for one week and by the next Monday, she came in and sat down at the table for her very first activity and her name clear enough that we could read it, and the smile on her face is something I will never forget. She looked at me and with the happiest face said I did it we high-fived and she gave me the biggest hug.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Pay off some bills like my loans and maybe have some left over that I can take a little vacation
