I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in second grade! I used to play school every day when I got home from school, while my friends were playing house I was setting my dolls and stuffed animals up like they were in the classroom and playing school!

I had a student who struggled with behavior, but didn’t struggle academically. I worked with him every single day. I talked to his mom regularly because of his struggles. Years later she found me on social media and I ended up getting to talk to the student who just graduated high school and he told me how much of an impact I made on him and how much he appreciated everything I did to help him. You don’t always get to know the impact you are actually making, so that renewed my love of teaching.

I would probably make over my classroom and get my masters degree! I would love to make my classroom feel like home, instead of just a classroom. I also would love to get my masters in either administration or school counseling, but I am not sure yet what I want my next steps to be!
