I have always loved being with children and babysitting. It was a no brainer that early childhood education was the life path for me. Once I started working towards opening my own childcare center on my family farm, it all happened so quickly and flowed so easy. I knew I was right where I was meant to be.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI had our classroom kids out to our family’s barn and we were feeding the cows some scrap watermelon rinds. The children were up on the fence and chickens were surrounding us. The children were giggling like mad watching the animals and that’s when it clicked that preschool needs more of these moments and less paperwork at a table.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would update and add more spaces in our barn classroom to expand our classrooms learning and put up more pasture for our critters. The children thrive in our barn classroom that it only seems right to update it.
