Learn MoreI became a teacher because of the strong relationships my teachers made with me from preschool through college. I wanted to be able to impact students in a positive way and utilize my love for kids and learning in my career choice. I chose special education and elementary education to ensure I’d make an inclusive learning environment for all students.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceWhile everyday yields memorable moments with my students, the most meaningful moment was watching the class of 2025 graduate from high school. These students were from my first classroom as a 3rd grade teacher. After the ceremony, I found all of my former students and gave them a handwritten card to wish them well for their exciting futures!
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use the $25,000 to start my dream of owning an inclusive preschool. My vision is to create a preschool for children of all abilities with access to supplemental services during their school day. All curriculum and therapy will be play-based and provide a wide range of science, technology, engineering, art, and math experiences.
