Learn MoreI wanted to teach middle school because that was the time in my life where I felt like I truly stepped into who I am as a person. I was a silly middle school kid and so I felt like I could connect with them. I have never really lost that silly goofy side, and I have picked up on some skills over the years that I feel could help make their future selves more impactful on our world. After I got in the classroom, I can’t really imagine being at work where I’m not surrounded by kids all day.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceSome might say they remember a child, a situation, or that one kid they connected with. For me it’s a thousand faces that pop up in my mind. All the laughs, the smiles, the struggles, the successes, all just compiling into this mass of memories I will take with me all of my days.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would buy a house. I would plant roots in the community that I invest my time in every day.
