Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I believe education changes lives. I want to make a difference by helping students see their potential, build confidence, and grow both academically and personally. My goal is to create a classroom where students feel supported, challenged, and inspired. Knowing I can positively impact their future, even in small ways each day, is what drives me to teach.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable moments was working with a student who was deeply struggling academically and emotionally. By intentionally meeting them at their level and adjusting my approach to fit their learning style, I was able to break down the barriers that had been holding them back. Watching understanding ignite in real time—those “aha” moments unfolding like fireworks—was a powerful reminder of the impact thoughtful, responsive teaching can have.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I were to win $25,000, I would invest it in creating lasting impact for students. I would enhance my classroom with updated resources, flexible seating, and engaging learning materials while also funding meaningful student experiences such as field trips and enrichment opportunities. I would dedicate a portion to a mini vacation to reward my family, their constant support allows me to fully invest in my students, often requiring long hours.
