Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to make a difference in the lives of students who need extra support and understanding. Special education allows me to meet students where they are, celebrate their progress, and help them build confidence and independence. Seeing their growth, no matter how small, reminds me every day why this work matters.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was seeing my students begin to show real understanding in communication. Many of them struggled to express their needs and thoughts, but through patience and support, they started using words, gestures, and tools to communicate. Watching their confidence grow as they were finally understood was incredibly meaningful and reminded me why I love teaching special education.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I would use the opportunity to create more stability for my family. As a teacher and a mom of two, paying down my student loans and covering essential expenses would lift a huge weight off my shoulders. It would allow me to focus more on raising my children and continuing to give my students the patience, energy, and care they deserve.
