I love: Monday share circles, First Chapter Friday, collaboratively solving problems, celebrating their successes, and growing as a class.

I did not originally want to be a teacher. I started in college as a physics major with a dream of becoming an astrophysicist. At the time, I was working at a local theatre working with kids in a musical theatre camp. I realized I loved working with kids and made it my mission to help kids love math and science as much as I do!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most memorable teaching experiences was each time I was able to teach electricity in 4th grade science. In this unit, the students had virtual simulations, opportunities for research, hands on materials to build circuits, and ended with building an electronic board game that they shared with students at different grade levels. I loved being able to teach with hands on materials and loved seeing students get so excited when they were able to build their circuits correctly.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would put the money towards my education. I would like to go back to school to expand my license so I would be able to teach K-8 students instead of the K-5 I am currently able to teach.
