Learn MoreI became a teacher because I was once a struggling student. One teacher noticed I was falling behind and took the time to support and believe in me. Her patience and encouragement changed my confidence and direction. She inspired me to do the same for my students, so fewer children feel overlooked and more receive the support they need to succeed.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable moment was reading a student’s writing assignment about their favorite part of the day. They wrote that it was coming to school and seeing me because I make them feel loved and safe, like a mom they don’t have at home. It reminded me that teaching is more than academics — it’s about creating a space where students feel valued, supported, and cared for every single day.
What would you do with the $25,000?With $25,000, I would pay off my remaining student loans to ease the financial burden that comes with starting my career in education. I would also make a down payment on a reliable car, as I currently depend on my parents’ vehicle to commute to and from work. This support would provide stability, independence, and peace of mind, allowing me to focus more fully on my students and my growth as an educator.
