Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I believe in the power of influence. I wanted to make a difference in young people’s lives, to guide, and push them to see their potential on and off the court. Education and coaching allow me to build relationships, create a positive culture, and help students grow into confident, capable adults ready for their future.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable moment was losing our head coach in the middle of the season and school year, when everything felt uncertain and heavy. It could have broken us. Instead, it brought us together. Watching our team respond with resilience, maturity, and heart and still fighting our way to the state championship games was unforgettable. It wasn’t just about basketball. It was about strength, unity, and refusing to let adversity define us.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would invest it right back into my classroom and my students. I would purchase updated equipment and hands-on materials to create richer learning experiences. Beyond supplies, it would give me something just as valuable peace of mind. Relieving financial pressure would allow me to focus fully on what matters most: spending intentional, quality time mentoring my students and players, pouring into them without the constant weight of bills and financial stress.
