Allie Mallett

Ever since I was a little girl I knew that I wanted to become a teacher. I would line my teddy bears up and pass out my moms computer paper and pretend to teach them the alphabet. I truly feel like it is what I was born to do. Nothing could compare to the feeling that I get when I witness the 'ahh-haa' moments. I have a passion for fostering student growth and influencing a child in becoming a life long learner.

I once taught a student who was obsessed with the color on my toe nails. He was a student who struggled to pay attention on the rug during reading time. One day, he decided he would start rubbing the polish on my big toe. I found it odd at first but I noticed it was keeping him calm and still. I allowed him to keep rubbing the polish and once I was finished reading he was able to answer any question I asked about the story. He did this every day until the end of school and flourished in reading.

I have earned both a Bachelors and Masters Degree in elementary education. I would use the $25, 000 to pay off my student loan dept. It has been one of the biggest goals of mine since I accumulated student loan dept. Having my student loans paid off would be such a relief for me and my family.
