I became a teacher because as a student myself I wish I had a teacher who had noticed me and cared about what was going on in my life. Maybe if I had that relationship I could have gotten help sooner so when I decided to be a teacher I wanted to be someone I needed to students I work with. I love working with kids. I love helping a student understand a concept and love seeing them grow into who they will be. If I can help them a long the way that is a gift in itself.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable experience is my first year teaching I had a student who came to class in the same clothes and always was sleeping. I asked him what was going on and he didn’t even have a shirt on just a hoodie and was on the streets. That broke my heart so I applied to iheartradio for a Christmas giveaway and won! I got $1000 to spend on students at my school who were in need of clothes so including him I was able to help 23 students that year at Christmas time with clothes and shoes.
What would you do with the $25,000?With the $25000, I would start my own family and pursue my masters degree. I would like to move up in education and keep working on improving our education system as best as I can to support children.
