Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I believe education changes lives. Growing up, I saw how one caring adult in a classroom could shift a child’s confidence and future. I wanted to be that person. Teaching allows me to pour knowledge, encouragement, and belief into students every day. It is not just about academics. It is about helping children discover who they are, what they are capable of, and reminding them that their voice and dreams matter.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable experiences was watching a student who struggled all year finally believe in themselves. They went from saying “I can’t do this” to proudly standing in front of the class explaining their work. The room erupted in cheers. In that moment, it was not just about the lesson. It was about confidence, courage, and growth. Moments like that remind me that teaching is about changing how students see themselves.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the $25,000 to bring academics to life for my students. Seeing learning is powerful, but doing it makes it unforgettable. I would fund meaningful field trips, invite professionals into the classroom, and provide hands on materials that make lessons real. I would also invest in cost friendly programs, collaborative tools, and engaging online platforms that help students connect with their learning in fun, interactive ways that strengthen understanding and curiosity.
