It’s not really a “why,” but a “who” I became a teacher for. Knowledge is everything. It’s what no one can take from you. It allows you to ask questions and seek answers. I wanted to reach out to as many teens possible to not only educate them in a meaningful, fun, and engaging way, but to also show them what sincere love and faith looks like from another soul who invests in them. To show them how to put themselves first so that they can be and do anything in the world that their hearts desire.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI don’t have 1 memory that sticks out above the rest. I have so many “here” and “there” moments daily. It’s the “a-ha” moments on their faces excite me, the “I did it!” smiles, the “thanks for listening” hugs, the nonstop laughter, the running into them out in the real world years later and seeing how successful they are, or even the heartbreaks from hearing of those who are no longer with us. Every day is full of memorable moments. I’m so grateful to be able to experience life with them.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would divide it in half. Half to give back to the students, whether it’s to buy more lab equipment or to treat them with things they need or fun rewards just because. The other half for my family because they accept the time and love I pour into my students and support me instead of making me choose. They allow me to donate my time to do whatever I got to do to complete my missions. I’d love to take them somewhere to give them 1 on 1 with me. I want to make beautiful memories with them freely
