I became a teacher because I understand the profound impact education can have on someone's life, especially for those facing challenges like poverty and broken families. Having experienced this struggle myself, I was motivated to give back. During my school years, I volunteered to teach out-of-school youth in the Philippines, focusing on Mathematics and English. I saw firsthand how guidance and support could transform lives. This experience fueled my passion for teaching.

As an international teacher in the U.S., my most memorable experience comes from igniting a love for Math in my diverse students. I emphasize real-life applications, showing them how concepts connect to daily challenges and decision-making. By starting each lesson with a relevant rationale, I help them see the value in what they learn. Witnessing their transformation—from struggling with a subject they once hated to embracing it with enthusiasm—fills me with joy.

If I had $25,000, I would dedicate it to supporting students facing financial hardships, just as I once did while selling candles to continue my education. I would sponsor neglected students who struggle for basic necessities and invest in interactive math materials for my classroom and fellow teachers at Buena High School in Arizona. Additionally, I would provide assistance to my siblings, nieces, and nephews still studying in the Philippines, ensuring they have the resources they need.
