Learn MoreI've always enjoyed working with kids, but my career took a winding path to teaching. I had stints of teaching art, and improv during high school, college, and beyond, as well as working with children with disabilities, and it always brought me the most joy. In the doldrums of office life, I would be looking forward to those moments because it felt like it brought me the most meaning and purpose. After seeing a friend's journey to becoming a teacher as a career changer, I finally took the leap.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceWatching my students grapple with being a scientist through their Science Fair projects was such a beautiful experience. Allowing them to select their own projects and only providing framework and guidance allowed me to see their imaginations soar.
What would you do with the $25,000?Id like to get dedicated lab equipment for my students, or use it to build a living lab space like a greenhouse.
