I love teaching because of the relationships that I am able to have with my students. It is very rewarding to see the smile and their love.

I became a teacher because I have always had a connection with children and my kindergarten teacher. When I was younger I always remember how loving and supportive she was throughout my whole school career. It showed me the connections that you make can have a major impact on how someone’s life is.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of the most memorable teaching experiences I had is being able to work with a student who was originally placed in the wrong school environment. When they were in my class, I was able to see how much potential they have. At first, they were nonverbal and throughout the year we were able to see how his speech transformed. Now he is in second grade and flourishing!
What would you do with the $25,000?I would help support my school and the children in it. Right now, most of the children in my school are low poverty and need any help they can get. I would offer support through our communities in schools. I would also like to create a life skills program within our schools for our special education students. This money would help buy the supplies for this program and help start it within my school.
