Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I had a passion for working with kids I didn’t even know. I started my degree as dental hygiene when I suddenly realized being with kids every day is what I wanted. Watching their conference build and seeing those “aha” moments makes it all worth it.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences is transforming my classroom into magical learning spaces. From the moment, my students walk in, their eyes light up, and they become fully engaged in the experience. Those transformation, spark imagination, build excitement for learning and great meaningful hands on opportunities. Seeing their joy, curiosity, and confidence grow in those moments, remind me why I do what I do.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000 I would invest in my classroom by adding hands on learning materials, flexible seating, and updated technology to better support my students. I’d also create learning centers and resources to meet diverse needs. Any remaining funds would go towards experiences like field trips, and bring in guests to engage my students learning.
