Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to build confidence, self-love, and academic drive in others. After losing over 100 pounds, I realized the power of pouring into myself through discipline, belief, and resilience. That transformation changed me. Now, I pour into my students the same way—encouraging them to believe in themselves, push past limits, and strive to be their very best. Teaching is my number one passion and my true calling.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching moment was helping a student who came to me with deep home trauma and emotional struggles. He hid under his desk, ripped papers, and wouldn’t speak. Each day, I left notes saying, “You are safe.” Slowly, he began writing back and sitting closer. By the end of the year, he was laughing, sharing openly, and told me he wished I was his mom. Watching him feel safe was everything.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I received $25,000, I would invest in my classroom, as I already spend much of my own money creating a safe, inspiring space for my students. I would purchase books, flexible seating, sensory tools, and enrichment resources to support their growth. I would also start a small charity fund in honor of my Poppy, who passed from congestive heart failure, to support families facing similar challenges.
