To create a rigorous yet supportive environment for children of all learning abilities, employing a warm demeandering teaching style to foster creativity, curosity and personal identity as well as model proper executive functioning skills for Middle School students. Also, to inspire their love of English Literature and Writing with their own voices but making content relevant to them and accessible for all learners.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My hexagonal activity that helped students connect themes, characters, plot and symbolism with the novel, Tangerine by Edward Bloor. They made the connections and inferences and eyes lit up!

What would you do with the $25,000?

Donate portions to literacy foundations, my school, my own learning advancement in STEAM and to help all my students have the tools and supplies, including books for their growth and learning.
