Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I wanted to make a positive difference in the lives of young people. I am passionate about helping students grow academically and personally while building their confidence and love for learning. Teaching allows me to inspire, guide, and support students as they discover their potential and prepare for their future.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was helping a struggling reader gain confidence. At the start of the year, the student avoided participating and doubted their ability. Through small-group support, encouragement, and engaging lessons, the student began to improve. One day, they volunteered to read aloud with confidence. The pride on their face and the class’s support made the moment unforgettable.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would also use part of the funds to provide incentives, enrichment activities, and experiences that motivate students to achieve academic success. Additionally, I would invest in professional development to strengthen my instructional practices. Most importantly, the funding would help me create a supportive, innovative learning environment where every student has the tools and opportunities needed to grow and succeed.
