Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to impact lives. I began working with kids at 13, reffing games and being a CIT. I loved being able to have an impact on so many people. When I was 16 I quit playing basketball to begin my coaching career. This was my true start to working with kids and drive my love for being a positive mentor. Now, in my third year teaching middle school and being a coach at the high school level, I am impacting a lot of people and able to be a positive mentor to so many

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience sticks out from my third year teaching, which is this year. I teach in a small K-8 school. The boys basketball team has never gotten to a championship game, let alone won. This year I had many students on that team so even though I was coaching at the high school I’d go to any game I could. I watched them get to the finals and it was great seeing how happy my students were afterwards

What would you do with the $25,000?

I’m a young teacher who just bought my first home with my wife close to a year ago. My in-laws are moving in so I would use the $25,000 to help make some renovations to make this process easier. Anything left I would use to pay off debts from my wife and I
