Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher for the light-bulb moments that happen daily and confidence shines through. I want to share my love for the youth, to encourage curiosity, resilience, and growth. I chose this path to work alongside dedicated colleagues who share the same passion, learning from one another as we guide the next generation forward together.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I work in a building that houses kindergarten through 8th graders. All of the students in last year’s graduating class, I had when they were in kindergarten. They honored me by wearing their original kindergarten graduation caps. It was a complete surprise and I felt an overwhelming sense of love. How lucky was I to make an impression 9 years prior!

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the money to upgrade new technology for my classroom and also help finance a down payment for a new vehicle. My vehicle is unfortunately on its last leg and I need to get another vehicle.
