Tell us why you became a teacher

Being a teacher was not my first choice. I have always loved kids, but never thought I could be a teacher. I worked as an aide at first just to see if it was something I wanted to do. I fell in love immediately, I was made for this job. I went back to college in my late 20’s, had two children of my own during that time and finally earned my bachelor’s degree in Early childhood education. This is my second full year as a teacher with many more years to come.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching moment was when one of EL students started reading full sentences on their own.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With 25,000 dollars I would start college funds for my own children. I want to set them up for success for their own future.
