Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I’ve always carried learning in my hands. As a child, I created lessons and stories on scrap paper. Montessori opened my eyes to the power of nurturing curiosity instead of controlling it. I teach to protect wonder. I design hands-on, exploration-driven spaces where questions are celebrated, and every child feels capable of discovering their brilliance.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was leading my kindergarten literacy capstone project to improve their literacy skills. I used movement, gamification, and hands-on strategies to strengthen segmenting and blending skills. The growth was measurable, and the confidence they gained was unforgettable. Watching my youngest learners believe in themselves inspired me to expand that same active, inquiry-driven approach into math and science.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the $25,000 to expand my Nature, Nurture, Next-Gen philosophy; a hands-on model blending STEM, literacy foundations, and intentional technology. Funding would help create a curriculum guide that incorporates full-body learning materials, experiments, and collaborative teacher systems. From exploring plants to strengthening reading and problem-solving skills, students would think critically, build confidence, and see themselves as capable innovators.
