I teach because I love the students. Watching them grapple with difficult concepts and mastering them is such a joy.

I because a teacher because I had a passion for history and wanted to share it. I felt more of a connection to middle and high school students because I love discussions and Socratic seminars where a complex question is posed and where students have to use evidence to support their opinions. These are some of the richest moments in the classroom.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy current school has given me the most beautiful experience connecting history together with building relationships with my students all in one place. I am able to see them process history as well as act as a mentor to them. I have had the pleasure to see my students as 10th graders, then 11th, and finally as 12th graders. It has truly been a beautiful journey watching them grow.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would put some money aside in a college fund for my children, something I know my husband and I would not be able to do for them otherwise. Both of us worked to paid for our own college experiences, it would be nice to ease a little of that burden for our children
